Fieldtrips later this spring
Chapel House Wood, Wharfedale
Roger Martlew will lead this joint event with the Yorkshire Dales Landscape Research Trust. It will take place on Saturday 19 June, 10.ooam to 4.00pm. Meet at the lay-by on the B6160 (grid ref: SD 978653) and bring packed lunch. The focus will be on prehistoric archaeological remains, including settlements and field systems. Walking steep, through pasture fields. Cost: £5.00 per head. Book via the PLACE Office.
Mulgrave Castle, near Whitby
Peter Goodchild will lead this visit to the Mulgrave Estate, including the castle and deciduous woodland. It will take place on Saturday 17 July. Meet at Mulgrave Castle at 10.30am and bring packed lunch. Further details will appear in the summer newsletter in June, together with a booking form.
